# Personal return rate

We’re constantly evolving to provide our users with the best experience, and transparency has always been one of our top priorities. That’s why we’ve introduced a new metric in the interface that helps users make more informed capital decisions — the "personal" return rate.

You can find it in your dashboard, under balance.

## ↗️ **Understanding Yield in DSF Invest**

As you know, our yield is dynamic. The two primary factors influencing returns are:

1️⃣ Trading volume on Curve

2️⃣ The price of CRV and CVX tokens, which are used to distribute fee rewards.

Both of these factors fluctuate daily, sometimes drastically — especially during market surges or crashes when trading activity spikes. This happens because market participants tend to secure their profits and losses in stablecoins, which are the core assets on Curve. More trading volume → more fees collected from traders → more rewards distributed to DSF Invest users.

## ↗️ Why We Introduced This Metric

Curve distributes rewards in CRV and CVX tokens, but for user convenience, we automatically convert them into USDT—a process called reinvestment. This locks in the user’s current earnings and reinvests them back into the balance, enabling compound interest.

Since reinvestment occurs approximately every two weeks, market volatility can cause fluctuations in yield — sometimes generating more fees and consequently, USDT, sometimes less. To provide a clear and personalized view of earnings, we’re introducing the Personal Return Rate, which reflects an investor’s actual returns over the entire duration of their deposit, factoring in both deposits and withdrawals.

For instance, in December, our yield spiked to 46% due to mass liquidations between December 5-9, bringing a massive influx of traders to Curve. As a result, even a one-week deposit during that period yielded around 35%, whereas the average annual yield is 17%.

## 📈 How It Works

The "personal" rate shows the actual yield that your capital has earned since the deposit was made. The rate is calculated as:

(Amount of USDT earned after reinvestment / weighted average deposit \* 100) / (number of days since the deposit was made \* 365).

## 💎 A Unique Solution for Both DeFi & Traditional Finance

In both DeFi and traditional finance, marketing often highlights flashy APYs, but the actual returns users receive may vary significantly. This often forces users to either manually track their performance or blindly trust a platform’s numbers. *With DSF Invest, you get a clear and objective view of your real returns — no guesswork, just transparency.*
